Marine logistics feasibility study
We have been coordinating a series of efforts looking into current inefficiencies in marine logistics. The study has assessed historical marine traffic movements, quantified non-productive time along with number and length of vessel trips.
The Department of Mathematics at Robert Gordon University has carried out optimisation modelling work, using data provided by operators in the study area, to demonstrate the size and nature of potential savings through more optimal routes and vessel sharing options.
In parallel, Crimson & Co have carried out a short compare and contrast study into logistics models used by other industries to illuminate key success factors for optimisation through collaboration.
