Chris Ayres, Chief Customer Officer, OPEX Group.
The UKCS basin has set ambitious targets to halve operational emissions in the next decade and become a net zero basin by 2050. Some of the greatest minds in our industry are working on the energy transition with several game-changing solutions in the pipeline. But these technologies are not yet fully developed or deployed and we need solutions that make an impact right now.
It’s estimated that we can reduce carbon emissions from offshore operations by 10% through operational efficiencies and improvements, but how do we pinpoint the day-to-day operational actions we can take to maximise performance offshore whilst minimising emissions?
Chris will explain how a combination of technology and cultural awareness can drive lower carbon operations. We all have a part to play in our journey to net zero through the choices we make. Ensuring the right information reaches the right people at the right time so that they can make informed decisions is crucial to improving energy efficiency, optimising power consumption and driving higher levels of reliability.
As a chartered engineer with two decades of experience in the oil and gas sector, Chris has a diverse background of leadership experience in digital project delivery and management consulting. Chris has worked with multi-national organisations across many sectors, leading and advising them through digital transformation projects.
As CCO of OPEX Group, Chris is focused on helping energy companies to maximise the value of their operational data through the application of predictive technologies and data science. He is passionate about supporting the industry’s drive towards net zero.
