Ralph McIntosh, Burness Paull LLP, Director
Securing the funding required to fuel growth is one of the most difficult tasks for any early stage business. The right funding package can allow a business to quickly develop its products and service offering, attract the right team and ultimately allow it to gain significant market traction and growth on an accelerated basis.
The range of funding options that might be available can be difficult to understand and navigate – particularly since the need to do so usually arises at a critical stages for a business when founders’ time and resources are already significantly squeezed. There is no single uniform solution. Different businesses at different stages are suited to different forms of funding and it is important for any business to understand the options available in order to find the correct funding fit.
Ralph will explain the key features of different funding structures and the benefits and drawbacks of each before discussing certain actions businesses should take in order to prepare themselves for a funding process and ensure that funding can be accessed as quickly as possible while minimising the demands of a funding process on the management team.
Ralph is a director in the Burness Paull Corporate Finance team.
