Mike Webster, Technical Director, SolaSense
“Getting proactive and we thrive, being reactive we only survive”

Becoming more proactive in surveillance allows operators to control their wells and reservoirs, rather than simply reacting when problems occur. This Tech20 will highlight the advantages of a proactive approach and will outline current technologies that are out there that can help make it easier and cheaper to gather information from wells.
Mike Webster graduated from Heriot-Watt University with an MEng in Petroleum Engineering. He had a career spanning 34 years in BP and was BP's first Global Director of Petrophysics.

Mike has specialised in mature field petrophysics and surveillance. He maintains a keen interest in well and reservoir optimisation. Following his retirement in June 2016 from BP, he formed his own consultancy company and more recently a new optical surveillance venture called SolaSense.
