Informing the future: How can the oil & gas industry use data more effectively?
Data is vital to the continuing development of any sector, and the oil & gas industry is very aware of this. Organisations are looking to collaboration and new business models which have data sharing at the centre of them, in order to use this information more effectively, both for their own commercial gain and for the North Sea as a whole.
As part of DataFest 2018 Burness Paull invites you to a breakfast seminar to hear more about these themes and some of the factors you should be considering when looking at data in your own company.
Stephen Ashley, Digital Transformation Solution Centre Manager at The Oil & Gas Technology Centre will talk us through their Call for Ideas initiative, and some of the results they have seen from across the sector. Stephen will also look at learnings from other sectors and how those in oil & gas can use best practice to inform their data sharing activities. These new perspectives also bring about change, and the OGTC is keen to look at some of the exciting opportunities ahead for the industry.
But can you share data without risk? Patents, NDA’s, confidential information and the new Trade Secrets Directive - what legal rights help you? Our team will guide you through some essential steps to take to mitigate the risk of data theft and leakage when collaborating. And we will prepare you with the necessary information so that if you do discover a data loss, you can be comfortable in the knowledge that you would know what to do.
