Under the theme of ‘Facing the Future’, Oil & Gas UK’s fourth annual conference will focus on how the UK oil and gas industry can continue to make significant contributions to the UK economy.

Luca Corradi, Innovation Network Director (pictured right), will share his insights, experience and expertise as part of an expert panel for the Industry Vision focus session, which runs from 10:30 - 12:00.

The session is chaired by Steve Phimister, Shell U.K. Limited, and Luca is joined by Michael Tholen, Oil & Gas UK; Jennifer Craw, Opportunity North East; and Simon Gray, EEEGR.

Vision 2035 looks ahead a generation from now to see how the UK oil and gas industry could be transformed. Developed together by the Oil and Gas Authority and Oil & Gas UK, alongside industry, government and other stakeholders, the Vision sets out an exciting future for the sector where, through the expertise of its people and innovative technology, it helps the UK make the transition to a lower carbon economy while remaining a key contributor to global energy demand. Vision 2035 is a unique opportunity to focus on the long-term future where there’s potential to double the remaining life of the UK Continental Shelf and grow its world-class UK supply chain to meet the energy challenge.

Themes covered in this session include the Industry Vision in the broader business context, what the Vision means to future generations and the oil and gas sector’s role in society. The opportunities the sector will generate through growing productivity, driving innovation and managing the skills challenge will also be explored.
