The oil and gas industry currently supports an estimated 300,000 jobs in the UK, in wide range of onshore and offshore roles. But what impact will technology have on this in the future?

Robert Gordon University and OPITO are conducting a study to determine how the UKCS workforce will be affected by technology and innovation in 2035. To support this, the workshop will discuss:

  • What are the types of job in oil and gas today? What will they be in 2035?
  • What is the impact of technology and innovation on the future of the oil and gas workforce?

Preliminary insights from the study will be shared and used as input into the workshop activities.
